The School Day

The school day for all children is 9am to 3.20pm. 

The morning for Years R, 1, and 2 (Key Stage 1) runs from 9am to 12 noon. 
The morning for Years 3 to 6 (Key Stage 2) runs from 9am to 12.15pm.
The afternoon is 1.05pm to 3.20pm for all children. 

Teaching time available:-
Key Stage 1 - 22.5 hours per day (excluding assemblies and playtime)
Key Stage 2 - 23.75 hours (excluding assemblies and playtime)


Term Dates

Autumn Term 2009 
3rd September to 18th December finish at 1.15pm
Half-term is 26th-30th October

Spring Term 2010
4th January to 1st April
Half-term is 15th-19th February

Summer Term 2010
19th April to 23rd July
Half-term 31st May-4th June

In addition there are five days during the year when the school will be closed for staff training.

School Office 

The school office is open between 8.45am and 4.30pm. Do feel free to come into the office in person or to phone (023 9241 2095). An answer-phone is available outside office hours. 

School Meals

Children may go home for lunch, may bring a packed lunch in a sturdy named lunchbox, or may eat the set meal provided by the school caterers (cost £2.00). See link (to follow) for the menu.


Car Parking 

The school has a small car park for the use of staff and official visitors only. Parents/carers may park in the Harvester car park next door, between 8.45am-9.10am and 3.10am-3.30pm, by kind permission of the landlord. Please use the designated parking bays only. 

School Uniform

We expect all children to be smartly dressed, with long hair tied back and without jewellery. The school uniform, as agreed by the Governing body is as follows:-

*    Grey trousers, shorts, skirt or pinafore dress
*    Green or white polo shirt
*    Grey or green pullover, sweatshirt or cardigan
*    Brown or black school shoes (not trainers or flip flops)

For P.E.
*    Bottle green T-shirt, black shorts and plimsolls or trainers, to be kept in school in a drawstring bag

For Year R children only
*    Outdoor weather suit 

All children are given a bookbag printed with the school logo and a water bottle when they start at the school. 

The following items are available for purchase from the school office:-
Polo shirts printed with the school logo
Sweatshirts printed with the school logo
Green T-shirts for P.E.
P.E. shorts
Drawstring P.E. Bag
Outdoor weather suits


Absences

If your child is unable to attend school, please inform us of the reason for absence, initially be telephone to the school office before 9.30am, and by an explanatory note on returning to school.


Medical Care


Accident or Illness at School

Please ensure that the school office has up-to-date contact numbers in case of illness or accident at school.
